Treasurer - Mariano “Nonong” Martin

Mr. Martin just recently joined the AAP Board, and has been instrumental in his inputs for the AAP’s financial audit.

Mr. Martin’s professional experience has been centered on independent management advisory service and consultancy work since 1985 up to the present, in between professional engagement and employment. Activities centered on project packing, real estate brokering, trading, and financial and management advisory services for various clients.

He graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas with a degree in BS Commerce, and has a master’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, USA.

Membership Committee - Reynaldo de Jesus

Reynaldo joined Alcon Laboratories (Philippines) Inc. in February 1970 as its first President and General Manager. He was concurrently Regional Manager Southeast Asia for Alcon International. On January 2, 1981, he took over global responsibilities for international marketing, distribution and regulatory affairs, based at Alcon’s head office in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, where his picture now hangs in the Alcon Hall of Fame.

Immediately prior to joining Alcon, Reynaldo was Philippines Sales and Marketing Manager for Schering Corporation USA.

In 1988 he started his own business, DJ Enterprises USA, located in Fort Worth, Texas, which he now manages from his Manila base. DJ exports ophthalmic surgical devices and diet supplements to the Philippines.

Actively involved in the business community, he served as President of the Philippine Marketing Association (Makati) Inc. and was a member of the Philippine Council of Management. Aside from being on the Board of Trustees of the American Association of the Philippines, Reynaldo is the Esteemed Loyal Knight of the Elks Manila Lodge. Reynaldo earned a degree in Journalism at Ateneo de Manila University.

Frank Holz

October 2004-present: CEO of Outsource2Philippines, Inc. (Outsource2Philippines.com), a for-profit company that offers a range of consulting and operational services to companies engaged in the outsourcing industry.

March-September 2004: Consulting contract as Executive Director of Business Processing Association of the Philippines, a newly-formed Association representing the outsourcing industry in the country.

2003-present, Consultant to a number of organizations, with responsibilities ranging from executive coaching to market strategy development.

Frank has been a resident of the Philippines for more than 20 years. Prior to this, he lived in Europe (UK, Switzerland and Belgium) for 10 years, and worked in the information technology field, including three years as the European Systems Manager for Levi Strauss and Co., and as the Planning Manager for SWIFT (global financial transaction system).

Linda Daetwyler

Linda Daetwyler assumed her duties as the Deputy Chief of the American Citizen Services Section of the U.S. Embassy in August 2005. Linda has served as a consular officer in Jamaica, Germany and Austria. Prior to joining the Foreign Service Linda worked as an educator and foreign student advisor. Linda has an MA in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and two BAs in Russian and German from the University of California, Irvine.


 
Fr. Jose M. Crus, SJ

Currently the dean of Ateneo's School of Social Sciences, Fr. Cruz obtained both his Ph.D and MA in History at the Cornell University. He graduated AB Philosophy from the Ateneo. He is also a Board member of the Ateneo. Other affiliations include the National Historical Institute, Environmental Science and Social Change, and Nippon Foundation.

Rick Santos

Mr. Santos has spent his career in international real estate having worked in the: United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines and throughout Asia with a focus on the emerging markets. He is an expert in the area of crossborder invesment wth a focus on sourcing equity, debt, joint venture partners, international operators and anchor corporations.

His first international posting was working for a leading real estate and consultancy group in the United Kingdom. Mr. Santos worked closely with the Reichman family of Canada, the family behind Olympia and York, who built Canary Wharf, the largest and most ambitious development in Europe at that time. He then joined Kobe Steel's real estate group in Japan to work on their large Wakinohama Iwaya project. He also has extensive knowledge and experience in the American property market with Brittingham Properties and the State of California. Prior to Manila, Mr. Santos was based in CB Richard Ellis' Asian Headquarters in Hong Kong.

Nadia Carlos

American Chamber Foundation of the Philippines

Nadia graduated from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, College of Mass Communication with a degree in Film and Audio Visual Communication. Shortly after completing her term as National President of the global youth organization AIESEC, she joined the AmCham Foundation as Fundraising Officer in 2003 - 2004. After a year doing project work in NGOs in Australia and the Philippines, she rejoins the AmCham Foundation as its fourth Executive Director.

The AmCham Foundation is the socio-civic arm of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. It implements programs on youth development and disaster response, and promotes corporate social responsibility among the AmCham members.

Shirly graduated from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, College of Mass Communication with a degree in Broadcast Communication in 1998, and has an MA in Professional Studies in Development Communication from the UP Open University.

She has been into project and events management for the past 7 years with experiences in varied companies and organizations - radio and TV network, production house and talent agency, travel association, and educational technology company before joining the AAP in 2003.

Shirly is from Butuan City, in Mindanao, where her family is residing.


 
Social Welfare Officer - Agnes Matienzo

Agnes, a registered social worker, graduated with a degree of Social Work, from the Bicol University, Legaspi City. She is currently taking her master's studies at the College of Social Work and Community Development, University of the Philippines Diliman.

Her past experiences included her stint at Caritas Manila as a case worker handling children in especially difficult circumstances. She also worked as part-time community worker with the women sector while having her casework load. She has worked as a documentor at the Scandinavian Children's Mission (SCM) for a special project sponsored by PHILSSA (Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies). The SVM Scandinavian was awarded as one of the best convenors among the participating NGOs in the Philippines.



 
Admin and Events Coordinator - Mr. Ryan Mangila

Ryan is in-charge of coordinating requirements for the Association’s fund-raising events, both within and outside the AAP. He is also tasked to provide administrative and logistics support to the office operations.

Ryan has worked as a Technical Support Representative at Sykes Asia for 3 years, and is adept with handling client calls and providing resolutions to inquiries and general information.

Ryan is a graduate of BS Commerce, major in Financial and Managerial Accounting from San Sebastian College, and is actively involved in theatre and marketing in their parish church in San Mateo, Rizal.
